What That Fold Is Worth

The math is blunt.

The fold

If an 800 mm-tall box folds down to 250 mm, you can return three to four times as many empty units in the same truck. On a closed loop — plant to plant, plant to supplier, warehouse to warehouse — that alone removes a substantial slice of return freight. It also hands back the warehouse floor that used to be occupied by empty containers.

The bigger number shows up over the lifecycle

PP sleeve packs are formed from polypropylene honeycomb or corrugated board, typically 2–12 mm thick (4 / 6 / 8 / 10.5 mm are the common working gauges), paired with a modified PP or HDPE pallet and lid. These units are measured in years and hundreds of turns, not trips — hundreds of turnovers against the ten or fifteen a cardboard box survives.

Weather resistance

Weather resistance follows from the same fact: stable from −20 °C to 60 °C, waterproof, oil- and corrosion-resistant, no moisture absorption, no mould, no splinters. Dirty? Hose it down and wipe it.

Sustainability

And sustainability isn't a badge bolted on top — it's the inevitable output. One container used hundreds of times replaces hundreds of cardboard boxes, rolls of stretch film and wooden crates; at end of life the PP is still recyclable. For export operations there's a concrete bonus too: PP is not subject to the heat-treatment and fumigation requirements that apply to wooden packaging, which removes a real step from international shipping.
